In September, we joined Trent's family for a little getaway to celebrate Trent's brother's 40th birthday. We left the boy with Grammie and Paads and took the girl and went on our merry way.
This is how we felt about it. Because yes, we love him to pieces, but toddlers are hard and we never get a break.
The first stop was Fredericksburg. What a cute town! We had never been, so we got there a little early to walk around. Amelia and I got some new shades.😎
Amelia and GiGi...
Snoozin' during lunch!
Aunt Amy...
We left the next day to head to San Antonio. A quick stop in Luckenbach was on the agenda.
This man sang "Luckenbach Texas" which I'm sure happens very rarely there. 😉
We got to SA right around lunch time. Dick's Last Resort was the chosen location. We all got hats made for us. If you've never been, it's pretty funny. The waiters and waitresses are rude and hilarious. If you're easily offended, don't go.
A walk on the river walk back to our hotel.
It was an old mansion turned hotel. Very cool.
If these chairs don't scream TEXAS, I don't know what does.
All the rooms had cute, retro fridges. Fully stocked with pricey things, of course.
The hotel's restaurant/bar. This was when I had to go on a walk/bounce.
We spent two nights there and both mornings, we splurged and got room service. I got the same thing each day: skillet banana bread with crunchy peanut butter and berries and bananas. It was soooooo good.
This was after our Alamo visit.
Cute little cookies left by the maids.
Our last night, we ate at Southerleigh. It was fantastic!!!!!!! I cannot say enough about it.
Meanwhile, back in Salado, Oliver had so much fun and we loved getting pics of him.
REUNITED! We missed him so much.
