Oliver is 3 months!

Dear Oliver,

You are 3 months old!!!  You're actually a little over 14 weeks as I type this, but that's ok, right?  You weren't weighed or measured at the doctor this month (you only went to get 2 shots) so your measurements are approximates based on Grammie's scale and tape measure:

15 lbs
26 1/4 inches long!

In your 3 short months of life, you've already been in 13 states:  Tennessee (of course), Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama.  Whew!  You are quite the little traveler.  You've been in snow, rain, warm weather, cold weather, and been to the beach!  (And thank God nothing as scary as your first night home when we had tornados and sirens and we had to get in our safe place.)

You still travel well, although it seems you're starting to not like your car seat.  You're still ok with it, you just scream sometimes while you're in it.  Breaks our hearts.  But, Granddad Larry gave us a CD of his other granddaughter playing hymns on the piano and you LOVE it.  You can be fussy in the car and we'll start that thing and you stop instantly.  Music calms you.  I love bed time and singing to you, feeling you soften and relax in my arms.

You started grabbing and batting at stuff this month AND you're rolling over from tummy to back.  Not every time, but some.  And you're in size 3 diapers!

We tried the Bumbo for the first time and you weren't ready:

But just a few weeks later you were rocking it:

You play with your hair when you nurse.  It's pretty much the most adorable thing ever.  That and tugging at my shirt.  When you wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night to eat and you greet me with that big smile, I melt.  You are the sweetest.

You have really started to respond to us!  You laugh and coo and tell us all your stories.  Picaboo is your favorite.  And it makes you laugh when we even scare you a little when we do it.  Does that mean you're going to be a thrill seeker?  We shall see.  (Just don't do anything too crazy, ok?)

You also love when we blow in your hair and you like the air on you in the car.  (You're hot natured like your daddy.)  And you're starting to laugh when we tickle you.  Oh, that laugh.  It's perfect.

You have met almost all of the family and they are in love with you, just as we are!

You've been to meetings and interviews with us; you go where we go!

You're our little power napper, only napping at maybe an hour at a time, 3-4 times a day.  But!  You are sleeping wonderfully at night, so we'll take it!

You are growing so big so fast.  You love to stand up and you love to see the world around you.  Just recently, it's like you have places to go and people to see.  When you were in my tummy, the ultrasound tech said you were a wild man and you are proving her right, Mr. Squirms.

In our time on the road, we have witnessed God already using you.  I'll tell you those stories another time, but He has plans for you, little one.  You will do great things.

You are our greatest joy, Oliver Tuck.  We are so in love.
