Wenzel/Barlow/Self/Monk VACAY

After Georgia, we made our way to Watercolor, FL (near Destin) to meet up with my family for a little vacay!  It was relatively last minute but worked perfectly for all the 14.9 schedules involved.

We got to immediately go to the ER because of this rash.

Diagnosis?  Staph.  Fun times.  But the boy handled it so well.  Antibiotics for 10 days... :/

The rest is basically pictures with very little commentary, so enjoy =)

Oliver was Elliot's shadow and she was (and is) so gracious and patient and good with him!

Amelia was fed and Oliver was napping, so my mom said we could go to the beach BY OURSELVES.  It was pretty great, although we just talked about the kids lol!

Georgia, Oh Georgia

So, after Florida, we made our way up and over to St. Mary's, GA.  We sang special music at Ignite Church.  We played there last year (almost to the day) and I was pregnant and didn't know it.  And now we had this nugget.  CRAZY.

We did a concert that night and a lovely attendee (is that the word?) got this shot.
We enjoyed our time with those guys and always feel honored to be invited back.

A day off meant another beach day.  We went to Fernandina Beach, FL (a quick 20 mile drive), which is one of our favorites.

*heart eyes*
Unfortunately, rain/thunder/etc. came and we left after only about 30 minutes.  Bummer.

We got back to our guest house and let the boy play in his diaper outside because classy.  And because sandy.

He asked me to hold him and YES.  Always yes.

Sister girl getting some work done.  (Can't believe she's crawling now!!)

We had a chance to hang around historic St. Mary's.  We walked, enjoyed the playground, and had lunch.

That night, we had a show at Lighthouse FM at The Rock.  We love these people!!!  Also, sound check success.

Oliver got to hang out and watch YouTube and play with cars.  He also got a cupcake, so,
L I V I N.

I nursed Amelia right before we played and she had an epic blowout.  You can't see it in the picture, but there is sure enough a giant wet spot on my pants from me wiping up ALL THE POOP.

The Rock is broadcast live on the air.  Towards the end, Trent asked how much longer we had.  Vickie basically said that Amelia is crying and all the mamas have tried all they know.  So, that's when I got up and rushed to her.

I got her, walked outside and Sister was asleep in seconds.  All that crying was hard work!

We left the next day to meet up with my family in the Destin area, so stay tuned.  Until then, enjoy baby rolls.

Amelia is 6 months!!!

Dearest Amelia,

My, oh my.  We've made it 6 months.  Your HALF birthday!  It has flown by and, as time does, it will continue to do so.  I love you and am so proud of the sweet little girl you are!

You are:
20.24 lbs
27 3/4 in

You started chewing on your toes, just like your brother did about this age.  You've also started playing a little shy game.  Daddy will look at you and you'll smile and bury your head.  Pretty adorable!

We left Oliver with Grammie and you came with us on a little trip.  It was so nice to spend time with just you!

Your nicknames are still Little and Sister Girl.  And Oliver isn't calling you Mena anymore, which is kind of sad.  He also doesn't like certain people holding you.  He'll say, "Mommy, please hold Melia."

You had some avocado at Grammie's and you seemed to like it!  Now that you're officially 6 months, we'll start giving you more and more "real" food.  Can't wait to see what you like!

You're actually a really good napper, already two long ones a day, usually.  We'll still working on getting you to sleep longer at night, but I sure love our time in those wee hours.  (You sleep just like Oliver did/does.)

You'll pretty much let anyone hold you!  And nurseries and childcare at shows are going well.  You're simply amazing, baby girl.

YOU TOOK A PACI.  For about a day.  So, that was neat =)

"Just showing off my muscles, Mama!"

You're babbling and sometimes it sounds like MAMA!  You've also started throwing a fit if we take something away from you.  Ha!

This is how you like to do life.  Just look how yummy you are!

In time, baby girl.

See?  Also, hotels usually mean you end up in our bed.  I do like it, but you're a wild woman and usually hit me and/or scratch me.

You are very difficult to change.  You are on a mission to get to where you need to be.

You're army crawling!!!  I can't believe it!  Oliver thinks it's awesome and so do we.  Although, too soon!!!

And you're starting to pick your knees up under you.

Sweet girl.  I am overwhelmed with love for you.  We have quite the bond and I hope you always feel at home with me.  I love you THIS big and it gives you a hug.  And a kiss.

May the stars always align for you.
